Last summer I lived in old Aberdeen, next to the university and the increadible Seaton park. The place comes alive when the students begin to return in the late summer and they bring with them the hopes and ambitions of the next generation. Its a lovely thing to see, this manifestation of peoples dreams.

'Young man in the garden' is the second of Gordon's prints that I have bought and as a new collector of his work I was interested in a variety of his styles.
The block colours and line work give a wonderful sense of freedom and light; as the observer you have suddenly witnessed another person's moment of abandonment and joy.
As soon as I first saw 'Ginger boys with blue lupins' I was charmed by the sensitivity and sensuousness of Gordon's work. The composition and use of colour infuses a simple scene with a nostalgic longing. For me this image is much more than a decorative piece; it connects me to another man's vision.
