One of the many beautiful young people I saw last summer while drawing in the Aberdeen University grounds. This young woman seemed to blend into her environment at once a part of it yet a distict and youthful presence.

'Young man in the garden' is the second of Gordon's prints that I have bought and as a new collector of his work I was interested in a variety of his styles.
The block colours and line work give a wonderful sense of freedom and light; as the observer you have suddenly witnessed another person's moment of abandonment and joy.
As soon as I first saw 'Ginger boys with blue lupins' I was charmed by the sensitivity and sensuousness of Gordon's work. The composition and use of colour infuses a simple scene with a nostalgic longing. For me this image is much more than a decorative piece; it connects me to another man's vision.
